Italy demand surge lifts Polish HR flats exports
Polish hot rolled flat product exports increased 17% on-year in May to 97,218 tonnes, according to data from Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) monitored by Kallanish. Their average value, however, fell to PLN 2,314/tonne ($589) from PLN 2,576/t in May 2018.
The most-exported product was 3-4.75mm thick unpickled wide strip whose shipments surged 155% to 24,074t. This came as Italy took in 11,189t versus just over 1,200t a year earlier.
