Italian rod producers stop sales amid price escalation

Italian wire rod producers have stopped sales amid strong demand from Italy and other European countries and fast increasing prices, sources tall Kallanish. The domestic price for wire rod has been escalating in recent days. Transactions are reaching €690-720/tonne ex-work after producers pushed up prices to €700/t ($846) last week.
