Italian wire rod market reaches standoff
Italian domestic wire rod prices are stable compared to the beginning of the month, but the market is going through a deep standoff amid uncertainty and buyers’ wait-and-see attitude.
Italian steel market sales activity is particularly weak due to uncertainty, with sellers saying they did not expect such “a dead market”. Demand for wire rod from both distributors and end-users is reported to have bottomed, market participants tell Kallanish.
