Italian wire rod increases
Italian drawing-quality wire rod transaction prices have increased by as much as €30/tonne ($35) on average compared to the end of October. Mills are however seen further hiking new offers for December, and contracts are expected to follow, market participants tell Kallanish.
The steep increases since October are the consequence of increasing domestic scrap prices and a material shortage due to very low imports and Covid-19-related restrictions.
