Italian scrap prices weaken
Italian domestic scrap prices are declining by €10/tonne ($11.2/t) due to a general slowdown in finished products’ sales, market participants tell Kallanish. Some mills are attempting to further reduce their purchasing prices by €5/t for end of July delivery, but merchants are resisting the move.
Mills’ bids for scrap remain low and merchants are complaining about reduced sales volumes in June and July.
