Italian scrap to return to January levels
The first transactions for new Italian March scrap contracts are registering €20/tonne ($24) increases month-on-month. However, negotiations are still ongoing, and a clearer picture of price should become apparent towards the end of this week, Kallanish learns from market sources.
So far, shredded grade E40 has been agreed at €360/t base ex-works. This quality, however, is in short supply due to the fall in new car sales in Italy in recent months.
