Italian scrap seen decreasing
Italian scrap prices may decrease further when the sector resumes activity after the summer break. Some mills intend to stop paying the high point of the range seen in July, when the very high qualities of new arisings E8 and shredded E40 reached €530/tonne ($629) delivered on average.
Producers intend to lower their purchasing prices to below €500/t delivered because long steel sales in the country reached a standoff last month, Kallanish hears.
