Italian scrap market expects price hike
Italian scrap prices are seen increasing by €20/tonne ($24) in March as negotiations are ongoing for new contracts. After a week of standoff, mills seem to be back at purchasing and also expect to pay increases. While merchants are talking about a €20/t hike, however, steelmakers are envisaging a €10-15/t increase, both parties tell Kallanish.
