Italian scrap prices may flatten
The expected €5-10/tonne ($5.4-10.9) decline in Italian scrap prices may ultimately not materialise due to reduced availability of material and strong demand from some large steelmakers. Sources are beginning to believe this month’s contract prices will be largely flat on March, although some smaller suppliers will likely compromise €5-10/t, Kallanish notes.
