Italian scrap prices increase, sales volumes low
Italian scrap prices are increasing by €10-20/tonne ($9.7-19.4) compared to the end of September. The first two weeks of the month have brought some dynamism, with mills requesting material thanks to their production resumption after extended stoppages last month.
Scrap sales activity, however, is now becalming as steelmakers are witnessing a continued decline in finished product sales, sources tell Kallanish.
