Italian scrap prices are rising again, by €5/tonne ($5.5/t) week-on-week, industry sources tell Kallanish.

Local mills are in need of replenishing their stocks after purchasing very little last month. They are now paying €220-235/t delivered for E1 demolition grade and €10/t less for the lower demolition grade E3. Shredded grade E40 has also climbed to €225-230/t delivered, sources reveal. Mills are paying €225-230/t delivered for grade E8 mixed lower quality and €10/t more for the higher grade, sources suggest.

Prices are forecast to continue hiking as E8 is seen reaching €250/t delivered next month, Kallanish is told.
