Italian scrap prices flatten
Italian scrap prices remain stable compared to last week, with the market said by most to be “uneventful”.
While some mills have threatened a €5/tonne ($5.94/t) decrease in new contracts due to large availability, others are talking about a €5/t increase, but this depends on grades. Overall, negotiations for new contracts are not yet underway and mills are adopting a wait-and-see attitude.
