Italian scrap import prices tick up
Italian contracts for scrap imports from Germany, France and Eastern Europe have increased by some €10/tonne ($9.8) month-on-month. Demand for scrap from other European countries is reported at good levels.
Italian steelmakers are producing this month thanks to the government financial support designed to reduce the impact of energy costs. Demand for November however remains uncertain because of subdued sales for all finished long and flat products in Italy. …
