Italian ferrous scrap values flatten
Italian scrap values are flattening out following a price decline of €25/tonne ($27/t) in February contracts. However, the recent hikes in Turkish scrap have had the effect of stabilising prices and halting the fall, Kallanish notes.
Local mills have confirmed last week’s prices for end of February contracts. Domestic long products’ prices are currently falling as the Italian market for these remains sluggish and uncertain, Kallanish hears.
