Italian scrap flattens
Italian scrap prices remain stable on-month for now after a very sharp increase in December, market sources tell Kallanish.
Demand is now slowly picking up after the holiday as mills are enquiring for material but are refusing to pay the increase of €10/tonne ($11/t) asked by merchants. The market still remains quiet as scrap buyers are looking at domestic sales of finished product to understand the price direction for this month.
