Italian scrap falls
Italian scrap values are declining €10/tonne ($11/t) in new February contracts as predicted. This is in line with falling Turkish scrap prices and domestic long products prices remaining unchanged compared to December, Kallanish notes.
Local merchants are still negotiating with mills and trying to decrease by €5/t instead of €10/t, but some have already signed the first contracts for the first 15 days of next month.
