Italian scrap values edge down
Italian scrap prices are declining by €5/tonne ($5.7/t) month-on-month due to struggling sales volumes and poor demand, Kallanish learns from local merchants.
A situation of market torpor is continuing as mills are still not seeking material and are only buying small tonnages. This is causing stock levels to increase in merchants’ scrap yards. Some long prices in Italy are also continuing on a downwards trajectory.
