Italian rebar stagnates in quiet market
Italian rebar prices remain stable this week after the €20/tonne ($23) seen earlier this month, market participants tell Kallanish.
Sales volumes, however, are limited with no change from last week. While sales have increased this month of some long products, such as wire rod and merchant bar, the problem for rebar remains poor demand even after the summer holiday break. Rebar-makers are now quoting €150-160/t, in line with increasing scrap prices. …
