Italian rebar prices jump, some producers idle mills
Italian rebar prices are going through the roof, for both quotes and transaction values. They have jumped over €100/tonne ($108) compared to the end of February, sources tell Kallanish.
Because of escalating energy costs and rises in domestic scrap values, Italian rebar makers are now asking for €650-660/t base ex-works. This week, domestic paid values are at €640-660/t base ex-works, up from last week’s level of €600-610/t base ex-works.…
