Italian rebar prices inch down in slow market

Italian rebar prices are declining, with demand sluggish and sales activity quiet. The current high prices are resulting in slow orders from the construction sector, which continues to put off new projects, sources tell Kallanish. Steelmakers are now asking for €560-570/tonne ($637-649) base ex-works for domestic material, down from January levels of €580-590/t base ex-works.
