Italian rebar prices increase on shaky ground
Italian rebar prices are approaching the level of €500/tonne ($608), as some mills are quoting a €20/t month-on-month increase to counterbalance the country’s skyrocketing cost of scrap, buyers and sellers tell Kallanish.
Most mills are reporting low stocks in their scrap yards. Italy has the priciest scrap values in Europe and producers have been careful with their purchases in recent weeks, which leaves them now in need of material.
