Italian rebar makers stop sales, eye price hikes
Italian rebar producers have stopped sales and are expected to come back to quoting this week at increased prices. The move is meant to stop values from declining and follows the forecasted energy price increase due to war in Israel, sources tell Kallanish.
Buyers believe any strong price hike will not stick due to the persistently subdued consumption. Producers’ asking prices are expected to hike by some €30/tonne ($31).
