Italian rebar mills seek increases but demand weak
Italian rebar producers are seeking a €30/tonne ($35) increase for new April contracts. The move has however been met with uncertainty from buyers as construction demand remains weak in Italy.
April rebar asking values will start at €330/t base ex-works. Some rebar makers have already timidly asked for this level but contracts in March did not follow due to low demand, Kallanish hears from sellers and buyers.
