Italian producers lament plate prices’ slow rise

Italian plate mills have increased quotes, but contract values keep lagging behind. Despite demand increasing in December, values remain at below €600/tonne for S275 grade. The majority of contracts are now at €580/t ($709) ex-works on average for the basic S275 grade. A few sales happened at €600/t but for very small tonnages.
