Italian plate prices to increase
Italian plate prices are losing €30/tonne ($34) compared to the beginning of the month as demand has been sluggish in the first half of October. Last week, however, large buyers replenished their stocks and bought large tonnages, also in view of the end of the financial year, sources tell Kallanish.
Activity for both mills and service centres remains at good levels and producers are now planning a price increase in line with forecasts of slab price hikes.
