Italian plate prices soar in tense market
Italian plate offers and contracted prices continue to escalate, in line with increasing slab values, energy costs and a product shortage, sources tell Kallanish.
While some mills are delaying orders due to disrupted slab procurement, others are delivering material. The market remains particularly tense, with demand throughout Europe for S235, the very basic grade, and premium 355 grade still robust due to restocking at both distributors and end-users.
