Italian plate prices increase
Italian heavy plate mills’ quotes are increasing by €50/tonne ($60) compared to May, but contracts are stable on the end of last month as the increases have lost momentum in recent weeks, Kallanish notes.
Domestic demand remains sustained, with producers asking for €1,000-1,050/t ex-works for S275 to be delivered between the end of July and September, and €20/t more for 355-grade material.
