Italian plate prices continue to soar
The Italian plate market is improving in terms of sales volumes but the general lull is continuing and the outlook for December activity remains uncertain.
After a quiet October and early November and low values, prices started to increase ten days ago. Relative to the high price of imported slabs however, they remain depressed. Steelmakers are seen attempting to push up values again by the end of the month. Producers are now asking for €40/ton…
