Italian plate prices fall
Italian domestic plate prices have declined by €30/tonne ($33.5/t) month-on-month, in line with falling slab offers, Kallanish learns from distributors and producers.
April was a particularly difficult month for domestic plate sales for both producers and distributors and May is also proving to be a slow month. One producer says it is exporting most of its production to recover margins and because export demand is more lively than domestic.
