Italian plate market quietens
Demand for plate is subdued in Italy due to uncertainty and the end-of-year effect on the distribution sector. All service centres and distributors have posted record results this year, with some, particularly the large ones, doubling turnover.
One distributor tells Kallanish it has seen a 50% increase in sales volumes compared to 2020 and an almost 150% turnover rise, despite increasing transport costs.
