Italian pig iron seen falling, market quiet
Italian pig iron import prices are continuing to decrease. The US remains out of the market and Brazil is offering good quality pig iron at almost $80/tonne less compared to the beginning of August.
According to rumours, buyers in southern Europe may obtain $520/t cfr for Brazilian material, but only for volumes over 30,000 tonnes. Italian buyers however have not yet purchased any Brazilian pig iron this month.
