Italian pig iron prices edge up
Italian pig iron prices are increasing to $550/tonne (€456) cfr Italy as new sales to distributors are being implemented.
Stocks of pig iron at Marghera port, the main Italian steel hub, have depleted and demand for material in consignment at the port is increasing in line with rising scrap prices. Italian mills are buying small tonnages of 1,000-2,000t at the equivalent of $555-560/t cfr, sources tell Kallanish.
