Italian pig iron prices decline
Italian pig iron prices are falling by $50/tonne compared to last week, as shown in the latest purchases from Russia and decreasing Russian quotes.
Sources tell Kallanish that Italian distributors who buy from Russian producers to replenish stocks at Marghera port have placed an order for a small lot at $850/tonne cfr Italy from Russia. This is the level at which Russian suppliers are quoting, down from last week’s level of $900/t cfr.
