Italian pig iron prices remain stable, demand low
Italian pig iron import prices are stable compared to the beginning of October after increasing in line with international prices, market sources tell Kallanish.
Some more purchasing activity has occurred for small volumes at $380/tonne (€323) cfr from CIS producers to distributors who are buying material to replenish stocks at Marghera port, sources say. This month, however, sales to distributors have been scarce as Italians have preferred to buy scrap.
