Italian pig iron becalms on high CIS offers
Italian pig iron prices are steady compared to July despite increases asked by CIS producers, market sources tell Kallanish.
Offers for CIS pig iron to Italian buyers are $365-370/tonne cif. Demand for the product however is not lively as mills prefer to buy cheaper scrap and are refusing to purchase from pig iron producers at the current offer prices, sources say.
