Italian pig iron hikes
Italian pig iron import prices have increased in new contracts as expected as some sales took place last week, market sources tell Kallanish.
A contract for very small volumes was agreed at $380/tonne cfr (€326) from a CIS producer to distributors who are buying material to replenish the stocks at Marghera port, the main Italian steel hub. Small volumes were sold last month at $370/t cfr for September boarding, sources say.
