Italian pig iron falls
Italian pig iron prices are losing around $10/tonne (€8.9/t) compared to May in a weak and quiet market, sources tell Kallanish.
Considering the lower price of scrap, Italian mills prefer to buy scrap and only purchase pig iron stocked at ports to satisfy their immediate needs.
