Italian pig iron demand remains weak, prices stable
Demand for basic pig iron from Italian mills remains weak this month, with prices stable compared to June despite the expectation of increases.
This month, distributors for the Italian market have purchased from CIS mills but volumes have remained low and buyers tend to adopt a wait-and-see attitude, refusing to commit. Some orders have been implemented at $330/tonne cfr Italy, sources say.
