Italian pig iron deadlock continues

The Italian pig iron market continues to be weak. Buyers, including local distributors who purchase directly from Russian producers, are bidding at values considered unacceptable by sellers, and no transactions were reported over the past ten days. The market remains in deadlock. A large vessel of pig iron is expected to reach Marghera, the main steel port, market participants inform Kallanish. The cargo was purchased a few weeks ago at about $450/tonne cfr Italy.…
