Italian pig iron, billet prices decline, rebound possible
Italian pig iron prices are seen falling to $520-530/tonne (€428-436) cfr Italy as new sales to distributors are expected in the coming days.
While buyers are interested in discovering prices and availability, material is depleting at Marghera port, the main steel hub in Italy, as mills keep purchasing low tonnages for their immediate needs. CIS pig iron sellers are offering at $530-540/t cfr to Italian buyers for March loading, market participants say.
