Italian pig iron activity remains weak
Italian buyers remain absent from the pig iron market, with sales to mills stagnating as buyers shun pig iron for scrap. There has been little change from last week, Kallanish hears.
Pig iron offers are heard at up to $500-510/t cfr Italy from Russian producers. At present, however, there is an abundance of material remaining unsold in consignment at Marghera port, the main steel hub in Italy.
