Italian mills struggle to keep scrap steady
Despite the steep rise in international scrap prices, Italian scrap hikes are uncertain as mills are not willing to pay high increases like in the rest of Europe.
Domestic values are ticking up by €10/tonne ($11) on average but only for delivery until the first week of December. Merchants will ask for more increases next month but mills are currently not purchasing and demand is low, Kallanish learns from market sources.
