Italian merchant bar prices increase
Italian merchant bar producers are seeking a €20/tonne ($22) increase this week for December sales, on high energy costs and increasing scrap values, Kallanish learns from sellers and buyers.
Prices for merchant bar have remained relatively stable in November but sales are said to be unreliable and only happening back-to-back. Large distributors are refusing to restock, and their prices are sometimes aligned with producers’ values.
