Italian merchant bar demand remains weak
The Italian merchant bar market is struggling to restart after the lockdown was lifted in Italy on 4 May, Kallanish learns from market sources.
While prices are back at February pre-lockdown levels, demand remains extremely thin, and buyers are adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Many companies have not paid their invoices in April and liquidity issues together with uncertainty are heavily slowing the sales process.
