Italian scrap import prices increase
Italian contracts for scrap imports from Germany, France and Eastern Europe have increased by some €20-30/tonne ($21-32) compared to March, depending on grade.
While last month sources reported little interest and relatively small volumes being bought by Italian mills, this month volumes purchased abroad have been notably higher. Only a few mills are reported to have put off their scrap import purchases on account of their full scrap yards.
