Italian crude steel output falls
Italian crude steel output declined 12.1% year-on-year in April to 1.9 million tonnes, according to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai. In the first four months of the year, production also fell by 7.6% on-year to 7.5mt.
Flat steel production decreased by as much as 17.4% to 814,000t last month and by 12.9% to 3.2mt in January-April. Longs output also fell significantly by 11.7% last month to 1mt and by 8.3% to 4.2mt, Kallanish notes.
