Italian steel output dips in January
Italian crude steel output decreased in January after a significant hike in 2021, according to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai.
Last month, crude steel production declined by 3.9% year-on-year to 1.8 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
Italian flat steel production also fell, by 3.9% in January to 900,000t. Longs output fell last month by 1.2% to 951,000t, after rising by 21.9% to 13.6mt in 2021, Federacciai says.
