ISRI voices concern about Chinese scrap restrictions
The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries remains concerned about China’s restrictive scrap import policies, Kallanish understands.
The Chinese government plans to prohibit a variety of different scrap imports this year and next, the institute says. In addition to various wood and plastic scrap imports, steel slag and compressed auto pieces will be banned by the end of 2018, while stainless scrap will be banned by the end of 2019.
