ISM: Growth in US manufacturing slows in January
Economic activity in the US manufacturing sector grew in January, albeit at a slower pace than in the month before, the latest manufacturing report on business from the Institute for Supply Management shows.
The ISM’s manufacturing PMI came in at 57.6% for January – a 1.2 percentage point decrease from December’s reading of 58.8%. The reading is indicative of growth in the overall economy for the 20th consecutive month.
