Iron ore turns to increase
Seaborne iron ore prices resumed gains on Tuesday, even as futures markets remained weak.
The Kallanish KORE 62% and 65% Fe indices increased by $1.48/tonne and $1.4/t respectively on Tuesday to $110.36/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao and $123.91/dmt cfr. However, the KORE 58% Fe index lost $1.15/t to $98.59/dmt cfr. 80,000 tonnes of Newman fines were sold at $109/t with laycan of 30 August and 8 September.
